Surroundings
On the edge of Francescas, a pretty little bastide town of 700 souls, laid out on a cylindrical plan, the relais is in an 18th Century townhouse which has been tastefully restored. As soon as you pass through the gate, you will be able to admire the second passion of jean-Noël Prabonne : a superb herb garden in which each plant is carefully labelled. To the right of the house is a beautiful terrace which cannot be seen from the street and is most pleasant on warm summer evenings or at lunchtimes when the sun is not too hot.
Decoration
As you enter, behind the small counter at reception, you can take in the majestic stone staircase leading up to the private living quarters. On the right is the large dining room with a painted ceiling. Il can accomodate thirty people. A smaller dining room for about fiteen diners is on the left, also a very charming room. Both rooms feature a large number of original paintings. Comfortable armchairs and yellow and white table linen with matching napkins provide a lovely bright touch, as do the superb presentation plates from the nearby glassworks in Vianne.
